About Us
Assam University, Silchar was established on 21st January, 1994 by an Act of Parliament, Assam (Central) University Act, 1989. It is teaching cum affiliated University Assam University SC & ST Employees’ Welfare Association (AUSEWA) was formed in 2001 with a view to safeguard the interests of the SC and ST Employees. The Association is affiliated to All India Federation of SC, ST, BC and Minorities Employees’ Welfare Association, New Delhi. Presently it is headed by Dr. Ram Chandra Das as President and Sri Ranjit Das as General Secretary.
Aims and Objectives
Assam University SC & ST Employees’ Welfare Association (AUSEWA) is committed towards the welfare of the employees under SC & ST categories in particular.
- To protect, promote and safeguard the interests, rights and privileges of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Employees.
- To ensure effective implementation of Reservation Policies in recruitment, promotion and in admission as per GOI, MHRD and UGC guidelines.
- To represent the views of the members of the Association to the appropriate authority for early redressal.
- To sensitize the members about their rights, privileges, responsibilities and duties towards society, organization and nation.
- To impart training for recruitment, promotion and in service training for improving efficiency in the working system.
- To organize Seminar, Workshop and to spread the ideology, preaching of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar to the masses.
- To work for the socio-economic-cultural development of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe people.
